Playful sport design: una leva per potenziare coinvolgimento e prestazione

Abstract

Il gioco rappresenta una componente centrale dell’esperienza sportiva in età evolutiva, ma tende progressivamente a perdere spazio con il passaggio a contesti agonistici e professionistici, dove l’attenzione si concentra prevalentemente sulla performance. In questo scenario si colloca il Playful Sport Design (PSD), una strategia cognitivo-comportamentale proattiva attraverso cui l’atleta integra autonomamente elementi ludici e di sfida nella propria esperienza di allenamento, con l’obiettivo di sostenerne il coinvolgimento e la funzionalità rispetto alla prestazione. Il presente articolo presenta il Playful Sport Design, approfondendone le basi teoriche e sintetizzando le principali evidenze empiriche sul suo legame con il coinvolgimento e la prestazione sportiva. Muovendo da tali evidenze, lo studio analizza il Playful Sport Design in contesti calcistici giovanili dilettantistici e professionistici, verificando se l’utilizzo spontaneo di strategie di Designing Fun e Designing Competition si associa in modo differente alla prestazione valutata dagli allenatori nei diversi livelli competitivi. Il modello di ricerca è stato testato su un campione di 159 giovani calciatori. I risultati evidenziano un’interazione tra PSD e livello sportivo: nei contesti dilettantistici livelli più elevati di PSD, soprattutto nella componente Designing Fun, si associano a valutazioni di prestazione più positive, mentre nei contesti professionistici tale associazione non emerge. I risultati offrono spunti di riflessione teorici e pratici per la ricerca e la pratica sportiva.
