Abstract

The article examines the discursive representation of people with disabilities in two national print media (one Italian and one Spanish). Using the tools provided by Critical Discourse Analysis, the presence and prevalence of the different models identified in the Disability Studies literature are studied. Moreover, the adequacy of the discursive representation of the two media to the requests of the groups of people with disabilities themselves is assessed.
