Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • I confirm that, if my study involves human participants, minors, vulnerable populations, or animals, I have obtained approval from an appropriate ethics committee and informed consent from participants (or their legal guardians). If not applicable, I declare that no ethical approval was required under current regulations and that this is explicitly stated in the manuscript.

Author Guidelines

The reference editorial standards are those of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA),7th edition, 2020.
All submissions will undergo a double-blind review process and, if accepted, will be published after proof corrections by the authors.

Only typographical errors may be corrected; in case of delay, the Editorial Board will proceed to proofread the text based on the original version submitted.


LENGTH

For contributions to the Research and Review sections, manuscripts should not exceed fifteen pages, written in Times New Roman, 12-point font, single-spaced, including tables, figures, and references.
For contributions to the Tools, Experiences, and Opinions sections, manuscripts should not exceed ten pages.

Authors’ names must be removed from the submission file (Word document) but entered in the notes to the editor field during the first step of submission (along with each author’s title/affiliation) and added under metadata in the section “Add a contributor.”

Each manuscript should be divided into sections and, if necessary, subsections that clarify its structure.
Specifically, articles in the Research section should include the following parts:

  • Introduction: a concise presentation of the topic and research objectives;

  • Materials and Methods: clearly specifying research design, participants, instruments, and data collection and analysis procedures;

  • Results;

  • Discussion;

  • Conclusions;

  • References.

Each submission must include an abstract in Italian of no more than 250 words, structured as follows:

  • Introduction: presentation of the topic and study objectives;

  • Method: description of participants, research design, measures, and data analysis;

  • Results: summary of the main findings;

  • Conclusions: implications of the study, limitations, and future research directions.

For English keywords, authors are advised to refer to the Thesaurus of Psychological Index Terms® 2019 Update (APA).


TABLES, FIGURES, AND PHOTOGRAPHS

These should be limited to what is strictly necessary and attached to the manuscript on separate pages, numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals, each with a short but complete title and caption (distinguishing tables from figures and photos).
The approximate placement of each item should be clearly indicated in the text.

Any non-original illustrative material reproduced from other publications must be accompanied by written permissionfrom the publisher.


REFERENCES

In-text citations should include the author’s surname, year of publication, and page numbers (in case of direct quotation), e.g., Rossi (2019) or (Rossi & Bianchi, 2018).
If there are more than two authors, list only the first six followed by et al.

Only cited works should appear in the References section at the end of the article, in alphabetical order, or in alphabetical and chronological order if multiple works by the same author are included.
All authors’ names should be written in full, and no abbreviations should be used.

Research

Document that presents in detail the original results of completed research projects (IBN Publindex, 2010, p. 7).

Field Experiences

This section describes specific and practical cases.
These papers include a brief introduction indicating where, how, and when the case was presented. A clear description of the situation must be provided, along with a review of the literature that has discussed similar cases.

Tools

Technical note articles: these correspond to reports on a new method, technique, or procedure compared with those previously used in research, presenting the results of these evaluations with statistical analysis. They also include a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of the new technology.

Reviews

A document resulting from a completed investigation in which the results of published or unpublished research in a scientific or technological field are analyzed, systematized, and integrated in order to highlight progress and developmental trends. It is characterized by presenting a thorough bibliographic review of at least 50 references (IBN Publindex, 2010, p. 8).

Opinions

These are original reflective articles on a particular issue or topic — unpublished papers that present the results of studies and analyses on a theoretical or practical problem, drawing on original sources.

Editorials

This section features the viewpoints of the editorial board, the publisher, or guest authors.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy is issued pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR). It describes how personal data are collected, used, and protected in connection with the activities of the journal Psicologia dello Sport e dell’Esercizio, published by Ledizioni S.r.l. – The Innovative LediPublishing Company.

The journal processes personal data lawfully, fairly, transparently, and proportionately, solely for purposes related to editorial and scientific activities.

3. Categories of Personal Data Collected

The journal may collect and process the following categories of personal data:

  • Identification and contact data: name, surname, affiliation, email address, institutional information.

  • Professional data: academic position, research interests, short biography (for authors, reviewers, and editors).

  • Browsing data: IP address, technical data relating to browser and operating system (collected in aggregated form).

  • Publication-related data: biographical information, ORCID identifiers, DOI, and scientific contributions submitted or published.


4. Purpose of Processing

Personal data are processed exclusively for the following purposes:

  1. Management of the editorial process, including submission, peer review, and publication.

  2. Communication between editors, authors, and reviewers.

  3. Management of user accounts on the OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform.

  4. Fulfilment of legal and administrative obligations related to academic publishing.

  5. Statistical analysis (in anonymous and aggregated form) of editorial activities and site usage.

  6. Dissemination and indexing of scientific content through metadata sharing with databases such as Crossref, DOAJ, Google Scholar, and others.


5. Processing Methods

Data processing is carried out using digital and electronic tools, in compliance with security, confidentiality, and integrity principles.
Data are stored on secure servers with access limited to authorized personnel (editors, IT staff, administrators).


6. Legal Basis

The processing of personal data is based on:

  • the consent of the data subject, given when registering or submitting a manuscript;

  • the performance of a contract or pre-contractual obligation (e.g., publication of an article);

  • compliance with legal obligations concerning copyright, academic publishing, and transparency.


7. Data Retention

Personal data are retained for the period necessary to achieve the purposes outlined above or to comply with legal obligations.
Inactive user accounts may be deleted upon request.


8. Data Disclosure and Sharing

Personal data will not be sold or disclosed to third parties.
However, they may be shared with:

  • academic and research institutions for indexing or archiving purposes (e.g., DOAJ, Crossref, OpenAIRE);

  • service providers that support the technical management of the OJS platform;

  • competent authorities where required by law.

Names, affiliations, and ORCID identifiers of authors published in the journal are made publicly available as part of the scholarly record.


9. Data Subject Rights

Under Articles 15–22 of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to:

  • access their personal data;

  • request correction or updating;

  • request deletion (“right to be forgotten”);

  • restrict or object to processing;

  • data portability;

  • withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

The Data Controller adopts appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent loss, misuse, or unauthorized access to personal data.
