Abstract

In recent years, the growing interest in physical activity among adults has fostered the expansion of the Master movement, even in technically demanding sports such as figure skating. This study investigates the psychological, motivational, and relational characteristics of adult athletes (N = 94), aiming to identify effective coaching strategies and develop a hybrid pedagogical–andragogical model. Motivation (assessed with the Situational Motivation Scale), sport-related fears, and preferred coaching styles were analyzed. Results revealed strong intrinsic motivation and self-determination, alongside fears focused on physical safety and social image. Athletes expressed a slight preference for a pedagogical coaching style, while valuing andragogical features such as autonomy and personalization. An integrated conceptual model is proposed, combining technical guidance with educational sensitivity to enhance experiential learning and overall well-being in adult athletes.
